IT'S A GREAT TIME TO BE A LION!
Lions of Oregon are just finishing up the state-wide food drive. So far we have collected 11573 pounds of food and received $1850 in donations. All the food and money collected will go to our local community food banks or food pantries.
APRIL IS OPEN HOUSE MONTH
Every club in the state is encouraged to hold an open meeting during the month of April. Of course the purpose of this is so clubs will get more members and then be able to do more service. SERVICE IS WHAT WE'RE ABOUT! April is the time to invite your friends, invite new business owners, invite your co-workers to a club meeting. Information about how to hold a open meeting can be found at www.lionsoforegon.org and then click on resources. You can also contact your Governor and she/he will help you set up an open house club meeting.
Lions Convention Season is here!
The District R convention was held in January. There have been lots of positive comments about the convention and what a wonderful job the convention committee did.
The District O convention will be held Feb 27-27 at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn. Governor Joyce is having a "mini-indy car race." It should be exciting! You can check the latest Oregon Lion for more information.
District G's convention will be in Pendleton this year on March 12-13. Governor Gerald and incoming Council Chair Bev Bridgewater have guaranteed a good time for everyone.
District E's convention is being held in North Bend March 26-27. This years convention will be at the Mill Casino, start saving your betting change.
Finally the 86th MD36 convention will be May 21-22. We will be supporting a candidate for an International Directors position. This will be the time for Lions of Oregon to get behind our candidate and show our spirit!
